Chris Homuth here and my story will always start and end with my passion- my family. I was born and raised in West Bend, Wisconsin. Being raised in a smaller town allowed me to recognize the importance of family and community. I always loved sports from when I could say “ball” to now when I watch my own son participate. I played football and basketball growing up. I loved sports and the team environment with great coaches that taught me so many life skills that I still lean on daily.
After high school, I felt a calling to serve our country with the military in the U.S. Army for 3 years as a Combat Medic. Even after I got injured, I still wanted to serve so I stayed in the Wisconsin National Guard. This type of loyalty will always run thick in my veins. And I am honored to have served and appreciated the opportunity.
After my service, I decided to make Chicago my home when I started four Direct Marketing companies. Taking this business venture into Minneapolis, where I now have made my home for the past 17 years. My real success story is told back in the summer of 2007 when I met my wife, Sally. For those of you that remember, there was this thing called MySpace. This is where Sally and I began our journey and twelve years later we continue to make each other whole. We enjoy helping community efforts such as Feed My Starving Children where we help pack and send food for people in developing countries. It brings us together as a couple and working within our community while we are helping others that are needy.
You can find us during our time off playing with our two dogs, Dudley and Josie, or most importantly supporting my son, Jay, who plays high school lacrosse and football. Sally and I are both Vice Presidents of the Burnsville High School Lacrosse team and support the sport state-wide. Jay makes us so proud in everything he does; Lacrosse is his passion.
You may ask how did a football playing, Military guy happen to get into the roofing contracting business? From watching my Mom and Stepdad remodel, to my wife and I becoming big Do It Yourselfers remodeling our own home, the construction business was a natural fit for me. I have now been in the gutters, windows and siding business for over 10 years. I knew I loved the industry, I just needed to find a company that matched my love for the community and was going to be a leader in the industry with technology and creativity in their business model. When LoveOurRoof, an Xcel Company, and I met, I knew my search was over.
As I stated earlier, I will end my bio with my passion – my family. What I do every day is to remain focused on my family and my community. Our love for traveling and for the Twin Cities is synonymous. From outdoor activities to some culture, you will find us around the city enjoying life.
