Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project Gives Back to U.S. Military Veterans
Omaha, NE – October 11, 2018
Owens Corning Platinum Contractors are working with Habitat for Humanity of Omaha to provide a new roof to a local veteran in need as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project. James L. Buchholz, a U.S. veteran, will receive a new roof on Thursday, October 18, from Xcel Roofing, an Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Contractor. This nationwide effort is a way to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them.
“Beyond the products and services that Xcel Roofing has to offer, there’s a love of helping people and a strong sense of community partnership that truly defines our company’s identity,” said Jim Harding, co-owner of Xcel Roofing. “It’s what drives us to participate in improving our community – and it’s what drove us to jump at the opportunity to help James.”
Owens Corning Roofing and its network of independent Platinum Contractors, along with support from the Owens Corning Foundation, are donating roofing materials and labor to replace roofing shingles on the homes of military veterans and their families throughout the country. Through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Omaha, James L. Buchholz was selected and approved as the recipient for the roof replacement.
“It’s through amazing partnerships like this one that we’re able to help so many people and make a big impact here in Omaha,” said Amanda Brewer, Chief Executive Officer at Habitat for Humanity of Omaha. “We’re proud to work together with Owens Corning and Xcel Roofing to help provide James with a more stable future.”
