My name is Matt Davis and I am first and foremost a proud father of my little boy Bryden. He is my “why”!  I wake up every day and drive myself to what more can I do to provide for him, mentor him and love him more than I did the day before. He is the best thing I have ever done. He is definitely my son because we share Husker Football with a passion!

On any given Saturday if I am not busy working, we will be at a game or watching a game.

I was actually born in Carroll Nebraska, where I attended Wayne High School.  My entire family still resides in Northeast Nebraska and that allows me and my son some great travel time back to the farm where he can help Grandpa out and play with his monster trucks.

My biggest influence in my life was my grandfather. He was our local small town mailman. He knew and loved everyone and everyone knew and loved him back. He taught me to be a great dad and son. His influence taught me the importance of excellence in customer service, never letting people down and always being there for friends and family.

Before coming into the roofing and restoration industry, I was a General Manager with Menards for 10 years. I have moved all around the midwest while working in the roofing industry in numerous states including Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.

I chose Xcel Roofing because it aligned with my professional and personal goals. When I look at the core values that I was raised with and the core values that Xcel has adopted, they both are so similar. I was looking for a company that stands not only behind its people, but all the people the company helps. I really want to get more involved with the community in which I live, and this is exactly what Xcel is known for.

This is perfect for me, but also for the customers I help. If there is an organization that they are passionate about, then I can get our company involved as well and we can really become more impactful. If you ask me what I like to do in my spare time, it would probably involve anything with my son and anything competitive. I played semi-pro football for seven years and that competitiveness will always be in my blood.

I have lived in Minnesota for many of the last seven years with Menards and roofing. When I wasn't busy roofing, we would be out ice fishing or boating. What else are you going to do with over 10,000 lakes?

Now I'm back in South Dakota which to me is the best place to be. Plenty of things to do in Sioux Falls with great concerts coming to town but my favorite is going to Falls Park.

If you were to ask my best friend about me he would definitely say “Matt is who I wish my Dad was. He is so much fun to be around, but he gets business done and takes his life seriously.”
