I think I learned how to be the best father and son by my experiences on the family farm. I look up to my grandpa for his perspective on life. He taught me the importance of community through his involvement in church and events in town; helping his fellow neighbors in time of need.
My grandpa’s actions always taught me that you only get out of life what you give. I try to give that same advise to me 2 sons today. I learned that working was not just a way to keep gas in my car growing up, but every opportunity became a life lesson. From farming with my grandpa to being a pizza delivery person in high school and then moving into the construction business with my dad, every job I had has led me down the path to where I am today. My dad was a contractor with Gleason Construction and he and I worked together on projects like the Hormel Plant and other commercial properties around the Fremont area. Working with him in the summers taught me a skill set and a passion that I now take with me on every project I go to. I learned that not only did I want to help homeowners with their exterior needs, but I also have a desire to work on commercial projects as well.
So, I have certified myself in different products and services to make me the professional people can trust for the knowledge and skill set to get the project done for them. I have certified myself in Asbsestos, Wood Shake, Vermont Slate, Ludowicci Tile, Boral Tile, Stone Coated Steel and Commercial Roofing Products and Installation. I am hoping that people see that I take my profession to another level of dedication and will be that right fit for their project. One of my favorite authors is John Maxwell and one of his famous quotes that continues to motivate me “The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take total responsibility for our attitudes. That’s the day we truly grow up.” John Maxwell. When I chose my career path with Xcel Roofing, it was for so many reasons from the total support me and my customers would receive, the superior products they use, their passion for customer service but the one thing that clenched the deal for me was their commitment for community service.
My family personally has been hit hard with some medical issues where we have needed the Ronald McDonald house, we have dealt with breast cancer, American Kidney and Liver Foundation, Wounded Warriors…all on a very personal level. Xcel Roofing cares about these and your personal organizations. That is why I am here. Some brief but very fun facts about me: My favorite food is steak and potatoes (probably from growing up on the farm), My favorite movie is the Boiler Room and Wolves of Wall Street, I love country music and I recently started taking salsa and country line dancing. If you were to ask my best friend about me he would say,” Cole would fight for our friendship, not something everyone would do. He is as loyal as they come. Best father I know.” That statement humbles me, but trust me when I say you would get that same loyalty from me on your project and with your family and business.
